Women rally against drug abuse in Gahkuch, Ghizar
Gahkuch, June 02: Thousands of women rallied against drug abuse in the capital town of Ghizar District. The women were participating in a gathering organized by the Aga Khan Social Welfare Board, as part of the the Golden Jubilee celebrations of His Highness the Aga Khan.
Addressing the rally the deputy commissionaire, Mr Muhammad Ali Yogvi, said that collaborative work between the Aga Khan Social Welfare Board and the government had reduced drug abuse significantly.
The women were carrying banners, placards and posters carrying slogans against drug abuse and pressing the government, the NGOs and the community to work for completely finishing the curse of drug abuse. Officials of the AKSWB, social activists and members of the community shared their views related to the harms caused by drugs and their use.
