Election postponed in LA – 19, Ghizar 1, due to death of MQM candidate

GAHKUCH, November 6: Sher Bahadur, MQM candidate from LA – 19, Ghizar 1, passed away due to cardiac failure here in Gahkuch, five day ahead of the polling day. Sher Bahadur was shifted to Aga Khan Hospital – Singul and then to DHQ Gilgit but despite of all efforts he could not be saved. Election commission of Gilgit -Baltistan has announced postponment of election in this constituency. Other contenders were Pir Karam Ali Shah, Nawaz Khan Naji and Col (r) Karim.

Thousands of people attended the funeral rituals, including office bearers and leaders of MQM Gilgit – Baltistan. Altaf Hussain has also expressed deep condolence over the death of the party candidate.
