Doubling of educational quota for GB students in Punjab notified

Rawalpindi, November 15: The Punjab Government has issued the notification of doubling the reserved seats in professional and technical institutes of Punjab for the students coming from Gilgit-Baltistan. The announcements made by Nawaz Sharif in Sakardu during his recent visit were formally accepted through a notification.

The Punjab government will spend Rs.100 million on doubling the reserved seats for students of GB in professional and technical colleges. The number of seats in medical colleges have been doubled from 25 to 50 while those in engineering colleges are increased to 12 from 6. In addition reserved seats in all
the 450 technical colleges in Punjab run under TEVTA are also doubled. Apart from this the students enrolled in these institutes will get free hostel and health facilities.

  2. nawaz sharif was the person in past who curtailed down the reserved seats in institutions of punjab for the students of gilgit baltistan.even then this act is appreciable.

    This is a great news for students enrolled in different universities in Punjab. with the passage of time the hike in educational expenditures has hindered our students to come to Punjab.
    This notification will surely attract prospective students of GB having weak financial background to come to Punjab for their higher studies.
    I hope nawaz sharif will continue such initiatives in future as well.
