Submission date of nomination papers for special seats extended

PT Report

Islamabad, December 3: The election commission of Gilgit – Baltistan has announced to extend dates for submission of nomination papers for special seats till December 4, tomorrow. The scheduled date for this process has already passed.

Informed circles believe that one reason for extension of the date might be the fact that PPP has not been able to finalize names for the nine special seats, yet. Other parties have nominated their candidates. Thirty-nine candidates, belonging to different parties have submitted their nomination forms for the technocrat and women seats.

In the mean time there are also reports that PPP central leaders have raised objections over the name of Syed Mehdi Shah, asking PPP – GB to suggest two more names, in accordance with party policies.
