Government official shot dead in Gilgit, city tense

Gilgit, March 29: Tehsildar Akbar Khan, an official of the Tehsil administration, has been shot dead during a firing incident near Baseen locality of Gilgit city. Two people have reportedly been injured during the incident.

Fear has gripped the city because the incident is being considered as targeted sectarian killing. The government officials have appealed the people to remain calm.
