8 people, including 5 women, killed in Kharmang landslide

Gilgit, May 4: According to information obtained by Pamir Times at least eight people, including five women, have been killed by a massive landslide that hit Yurgut valley of Kharmang sub-division, in Skardu District of Gilgit – Baltistan.

The landslide, reportedly, has also destroyed 10 houses and crop fields.

Five out of the eight deceased reportedly belong to a single family.

According to initial reports the landslide was triggered by lightening that struck Yurgut valley yesterday night.
