By Our Reporter

Gilgit, July 27: A police official, identified as Shabbar, a resident of Napura Baseen, was shot dead earlier today in Naroot Mahallah near Naekoe locality of Gilgit city.

According to details unknown people opened fire on Shabbar, ASI by rank, when he was coming towards the Bazaar area. He sustained fatal injuries and died after a while. Cause of the broad day light murder could not be ascertained.

Several incidents of firing on innocent people have taken place especially in Baseen area but the law enforcing agencies have not been able to nab the culprits.  It is pertinent to note that millions of rupees are being spent on daily basis to facilitate the law enforcing agencies, like Rangers, Police, NA Scouts and many other agencies.

The security apparatus, apart from gaining momentary successes, has generally failed to maintain law and order in capital city of the Gilgit – Baltistan region.

Innalillah… That is a great loss for the family of young Shabber Hussain. I knew him since we met at police RTC in 2006. He was a nice man, a good friend. The people who killed him, are not human beings, they are enemies of our Lands, they are enemies of our children, they are Foreign Agents against G-B’s innocent people. May Allah gives him the best plce in Heaven. Aameen.

May God bless his soul and rest him in eternal peace.
Culprits and criminals must now be found and brought to justice. We should aim to create a crime-free society in GB, and the civil society should take the lead to create awareness towards our responsibilities in these matters.
