Honor killing incident in Bubur, double murder shocks the region

Gilgit, September 2: A 33 year old man named Qari Nizam Uddin and a girl were shot dead in Bubur village of Punial Tehsil, Ghizar, for allegedly holding an ‘illicit’ relationship.

According to details when Qari Nizam came out of his house yesterday he was fired upon by brother of the girl, identified as Qari Hafeez ur Rehman, who was reportedly waiting in ambush.

After killing Nizam the accused murderer reportedly went to his house and also shot his sister dead.

On application of the relatives of the murdered Qari Nizam police arrested Qari Hafeez and registered a case of double murder against him.

Dead body of the girl has reportedly been buried without following the legally required postmortem procedures while Nizam’s body was laid to rest after postmortem.

Relatives of the girl, including his father, two brothers and three maternal uncles have also been implicated in the murder case on application of Qari Nizam’s family.
