RCMG and GYO planning Black Day on January 4

PT Report

Gilgit, December 4: Rabita Committee Mutasreen-e-Gojal (RCMG) and Gojal Youth Organization (GYO) are planning to observe January 4 as a Black Day.

This was stated by a representative of GYO, Jahangir, while talking to Pamir Times. He said that the government has failed in its promise and plans to drain the dammed Hunza River during the past one year. He said that the people of Gojal Valley have been left at the mercy of private boat owners operated by smugglers, with the help of the district administration.

He also said that keeping the KKH blocked for 12 months is a conspiracy against the development of Gojal Valley.

Jahangir said that the masses of Gilgit – Baltistan shall rise to support the stranded people of calamity hit Gojal Valley.

Criticism of the government has been mounting as the local people think that the government is deliberately delaying opening of the dammed River to get more relief items and funds.

It is pertinent to note here that the RCMG had sought a Suo – Moto action from the Supreme Appellate Court against the elected representatives, the district administration and regional Hunza PPP leadership for alleged involvement in  embezzlement of fuel relief sent by the government of China.
