Astori doctor couple and their two children passed away in a tragic road accident

Gilgit, March 4: Four people, including Col Dr. Muhammad Tairq Astori, his wife Dr. Andaleeb and their two children died in a highly tragic accident on the the Karakuram Highway, near Dassu, Kohistan.
According to details the family was travelling from Rawalpindi to Gilgit to attend funeral of a relative. Their car faced a fatal accident near the Lotar area of Dasu, on the KKH, and all four members of the family died on the spot.
It is pertinent to note that Dr. Andaleeb was daughter of Justice Khursheed, Chairman of the Northern Areas Chief Court, Gilgit. She was working at the Poly Clinic Hospital, Islamabad. Col Dr. Tariq Astori was serving in medical corps of the Pakistan Army.
People have expressed shock over the tragic accident and termed death of the professional physicians as a heavy loss for the Gilgit – Baltistan region.

GB Chief Court is the continuation of Northern Areas Chief Court so the idea that it’s desfunctional is not correct. Its name was changed because of the change in the status of the region and its role has slightly changed because of the creation of Appellate court .

ASA , i was in the same class in. Fatima Jinnah college with Andaleeb. I was browsing through Khaula Fatima’s facebook page and saw that she is no more with us. I was shocked! Although i was not very close to her but we knew each other and were class fellows. I started searching the net and then found the disturbing news. I live in USA and hadnt been in touch since we graduated but i remember her bubbly lively personality. My heartfelt condolances to all her family members.
