Interior Minister bans 3 organizations in Gilgit – Baltistan

Gilgit, October 10: The Interior Minister has banned three Gilgit – Baltistan based religio-political organizations, Shia Talba Action Committee (STAC), Nau Jawanaan-e-Ahle-Sunnat and Sabeel Organization.

The ban was announced through a notification issued by the Interior Ministry of Pakistan.

It is pertinent to note that during the last several months the law and order situation in Gilgit city has remained fragile and several people have been killed different parts of the country, in what are largely believed to be sectarian killings.

The ban comes two days after attacks on two vehicles in the Gilgit city in which one person was shot dead while at least 6 were injured.
