[Breaking News] Inmates put Jutial sub-jail on fire, thrash a magistrate

Gilgit, December 10: Reacting to the jail administration’s efforts to search for mobile phones inside the cells, inmates in Jutial sub-jail have beaten up a “Tehsildar” (magistrate) and put some parts of the jail on fire. The Magistrate has sustained non-lethal head injury. The inmates also started rioting inside the jail, damaging furniture and other fixtures.

A large number of police were rushed to Jutial to control the situation.

According to latest information negotiations are under-way to control the situation.
