Students protest against detention of their teacher in Gilgit

Gilgit, December 10: Students of Federal Government Boys Middle School blocked the Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam for three hours today, while protesting against detention of one of their teachers.

According to details the police had detained Qasim, a teacher, on suspicion of linkages with a firing incident in which two persons belonging to Astore had been attacked two weeks ago. One of the persons had died while the other had sustained injuries.

After successful negotiations with the young protesters, the DIG of Police and PPP leader, Muhammad Musa, were able to vacate the road and open it for traffic.
