OEC appoints new cabinet

Islamabad, January 16: The Organization for Educational Change, a youth-led initiative striving to further the cause of literacy in Gilgit – Baltistan and Chitral, has appointed a new cabinet. According to a press release, Jibran Hayat has been appointed new president of OEC, while Naveed Shah has become the new vice-president. The press release further states that Kashif Essa has been appointed the Central Executive Director and Bushra Ali has become the new information secretary.

A ‘monitoring body’, consisting of out-going officials, has also been constituted, under the leadership of Imtiaz Ali, other members being Nadeem Gul, Naubahar Rafi, Tajalee Abid and Muhammad Zia.

The decision was taken at a meeting held on Sunday in Islamabad. During the meeting the progress of OEC was also reviewed and future strategies were discussed to ensure optimum outreach and impact.

Patron-in-chief of OEC, Saranjam Baig, also addressed the meeting live from USA. He appreciated services of the outgoing officials and congratulated the new cabinet members.

The new cabinet will be functional for 2012-13.
