New peace plan ready: Mehdi Shah

Islamabad, January 25: The Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan‚ Syed Mehdi Shah has said that a peace plan has been devised and started implementation on it for durable peace in the province.
Talking to media-men in Islamabad on Wednesday he said that a committee headed by Chief Secretary would call on Ulema of different schools of thought to discuss peace related matters with them.
He said Police is also being equipped with modern weapons including bullet proof jackets enabling them to counter terrorism.
He said that a new provincial Information Department is being set up in Gilgit-Baltistan and new appointments would be made soon.
