Medicines Testing Lab to be established in GB

Skardu, January 28: A laboratory is being established in Gilgit – Baltistan to check the standard and quality of medicines. According to Director General Health Baltistan region Dr. Iqbal Baig a pharmacy council is also being established.

The DG further said that work is underway for establishment of a Medical College in the region. “A nursing school has also been established in District Headquarter Hospital Skardu”, he added.

The DG Health informed that a center would also be established in Gilgit for heart diseases while capacity of District Headquarters Hospital Skardu will be upgraded to four hundred (400) beds.
