Govt increases petroleum, CNG and electricity prices
ISLAMABAD: The government on Wednesday once again increased the prices of petroleum products, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and electricity, DawnNews reported.
According to the notification issued by Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the price of petrol has been raised by Rs 2.75 per litre to Rs 97.66, light diesel by Rs3.08 per litre to Rs 93.29, Kerosene oil by Rs4.38 to Rs96.40 a litre and the price of HOBC raised by Rs8.87 to Rs126.87 a litre.
Meanwhile, the rate of diesel has been kept unchanged at Rs103.46 per litre.
The new rates will be applicable from midnight March 1.
The rate of CNG has been increased by Rs 0.80 to Rs 0.90 per kg in Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan whereas by Rs 3.00 a kilogram in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The government has also approved an increase in electricity tariff by 39 per cent under the fuel adjustment charges.
A per unit increase of Rs 3.03 has been approved and will be adjusted during the next billing cycle and it will not be applicable on KESC consumers.
