Open Shandur road for traffic: Syed Sardar Hussain Shah

Islamabad, March 2: Renowned political and social figure of Chitral, Syed Sardar Hussain Shah has condemned the murder of 16 innocent passengers in Kohistan. He has said that the people of Chitral Valley stand with their suffering brothers in Gilgit – Baltistan. Talking to a correspondent Syed Sardar Shah has said that the Kohistan incident will be remembered as the biggest tragedy of Gilgit – Baltistan’s history. He has demanded action against the culprits.

Syed Sardar has also highlighted the vulnerability of KKH and demanded of the government to safeguard the passengers. He has also suggested that the people of Gilgit and Ghizar can use the Shandur road for moving out of the region. He has said that the Shandur road is safe and secure.

Explaining the significance of the Shandur road, Sardar said that after the opening of Lawari tunnel the total time taken from central Chitral to Rawalpindi has reduced. He said that if the road is kept open and in good condition it will take around 14 hours to reach Rawalpindi from Gilgit.
