Gilgit: The Aga Khan Shahi Polo Ground located in Gilgit city is in shambles. Tin sheets covering the sitting area have fallen off, the chairs and broken and garbage has been dumped in vicinity of the historical polo ground.

Players and admirers of sports have lamented the reckless attitude of the ministry of sports. Preparations for the Shandur Festival are in the offing and no attention is being paid to the ground, which is a vibrant social and cultural space, providing a positive opportunity for people of all segments of the society to come together and appreciate the culture.
