“Bardasht” to organized peace conference in Gilgit

Islamabad, August 8: A leading national NGO “Bardasht” has announced to organize a Peace Conference for the civil society of GB on 30th August.

This was decided in a meeting between Bardasth’s chairperson Sanator Nilofar Bakhtiar and representatives of civil society from Gilgit-Baltistan here on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by MLA Bashir Ahmed Khan, Minister Works of GB, MLA Mirza Hussain, former member GB assembly Aslam Advocate, PRCS Chairman Asif Hussain, President AGHE Pakistan GB Tahir Rana and Tahira Noor Muhammad, working for the National Commission on Status of Women.

The meeting proposed to select Imdad Ali, a retired bureaucrat,as President and renowned gender specialist,, Yasmeen Karim, as General Secretary of Bardasht’s executive committee for Gilgit – Batlistan.

An advisory body was also constituted during the meeting to look after Bardaasth’s activities in the GB region. Asif Hussain, Aslam advocate, Noor-Ul-Ain, Amna ansari, Mutabiat Shah, Hajat Mir and Kolsoom Farman would be the members of the advisory body, it was decided.
