Islamabad, September 5: Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Secretary, Younus Dagha, has claimed that a nefarious “master mind”, allegedly involved in Lulusar massacre, the killing of tourists near Nanga Parbat base camp and some other acts of terrorism has been arrested.

According to media reports, the arrested terrorist has been identified as Qareeb Ullah alias Hassan. He is, reportedly, the former Ameer (leader) of Tehreek-e-Taliban Diamer. He was arrested from Thank Nallah area, located in the suburbs of Chilas.

The arrested terrorist and his accomplice, identified as Nabi, alias Hasnain, are also believed to be allegedly involved in the killing of a Colonel of the Pakistan Army and a senior police office. The two officials were shot dead in Chilas. They were investigating the murder of tourists near Nanga Parbat Base Camp.

In the past high value prisoners have escaped from jails in Gilgit-Baltistan. Some observers are fearing that the allegedly arrested terrorist might escape, if robust control mechanisms are not put in place.
