Gulmit, January 12: A group of fifty scout hikers from Hunza, Gilgit and Ghizer reached Gulmit today as part of the “Snow Hike 2014” programme. The walk had started from Hussainabad village of the Shinaki region in Lower Hunza four days back. The closing ceremony of the walk was held in Gulmit.

The Scouts were greeted by elders of Gulmit, while the members of the Silver Jubilee Band Gulmit played music, int he presence of the leaders of the Ismaili Council, Scout leader from upper and lower Gojal Valley.

The hikers had reached Gulmit yesterday. They spent the night at the Ghulkin village. During the night the hikers were engaged in different activities related to Scouting. They appreciated the hospitality of the people of Ghulkin village and thanked them for their generosity.

The Ismaili Scouts is a well organized voluntary body working for physical, mental and social development of the youth. The Scouts also render highly valuable services for community development as volunteers.
