Chitral: Young doctors demand regular service structure

Chitral, January 24:  Young Doctors Association urged the provincial government to regularize services of doctors recruited on contract basis. An extra ordinary meeting of young doctors association was held here at Dr. Ziaullah Khan residence under the chair of Dr. Noorul Islam Medical Superintendent of District Headquarters Hospital Chitral. The doctors reviewed and discussed various issues reflecting to young doctors. They said that due to appointment on contract basis Doctor feeling themselves vulnerable and they seek their job security. They demanded from the provincial government to vow their announcements and promises to regularize services of contract doctors. They also demanded for service structure because their promotion process is very slow. They demanded from provincial government for giving them equal facilities and other incentive like defense forces and some attractive sectors. They also emphasized on high ups of health department for giving more incentive to doctors working at Chitral to attract them in this backward and remote district.

Speaking on the occasion doctors said that after introducing of contract system very talented doctors joined private sector and thus public sector weakened. They said that they taking care of their hospitals like their homes but unnecessary interference by politicians would never be tolerated more than. They said that that government releasing only 11 rupees per patient per year in government hospitals some 65% posts of doctors vacant but even than the existing strength provides each and every facility to patients in their treatment. They said that doctors feeling unsecure as a result their professional skill badly affecting. Senior doctors urged on young doctors to maintain regard of their respectable profession by caring of their patients.

Young doctors association stressed upon their colleague’s doctors that treatment of patients is their first priority and they should to perform their mission as worship. President of young Doctors Association Dr. Ziaullah Khan General Secretary Dr. Fayaz and other urged on government for announcing service structure for doctors immediately and secure their job so to enable them to perform their duty with more enthusiasm.

Those who spoke on the occasion were Dr. Zia, Dr. Fayaz, Dr. Faizul Mulk, Dr. Haidarul Mulk Deputy DHO, Dr. Yahya, Dr. Nisarullah, and Dr. Saad Maluk.
