Islamabad, March 30: Political activists, students and professionals staged a protest demonstration today against the Regularization of Services Act 2014 passed by the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly. They demanded annulment of the act and hiring of employees through the Federal Public Service Commission based on merit and in accordance with the rules of services.

The said Act was passed earlier this month to regularize the services of grade 16 and 17 officers who had been hired on contract basis and who had been protesting to demand regularization of their services.
The protesters in Islamabad today demanded of the President, Primer Minister and the federal government to annul the said act and ensure hiring of employees in accordance with the laws.
