Chilas, April 29: The Kohistan Transporters’ Association has ended the four-day long strike and traffic has started flowing again on the Karakuram Highway after successful negotiations with the Kohistan and Hazara district administration officials.

The Transporters have agreed to call of the protest and remove the road blockade after they were assured that the convoy system in the limits of Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa will be stopped.

The KPK officials will hold negotiations with their counter-parts in Gilgit-Baltistan, Haji Gulzar, a leader of the Kohistan Transporters Association has said.

They have also urged the Gilgit-Baltistan government to increasing patrolling on the KKH instead of forcing vehicles to be part of convoys.

The KKH had been blocked for the last four days due to the protest called by the Kohistan Transporters Association.
