Gilgit, September 23: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Chaudhary Barjees Tahir visited Gilgit today. He attended a meeting along with GB Chief Minister Syed Mehdi Shah, Secretary KANA Shahidullah Baig, members of the regional cabinet and officials, among others. PMLN chief organizer Hafiz Hafeezurh Rehman was also present.

Talking to media, Tahir said that the PM will visit Gilgit-Baltistan soon and lay the foundation stone of the region’s first Cardiac hospital.

The federal minister also distributed cheques among relatives of 13 people who had lost their lives in rain and flood related disasters recently. He was also briefed about the losses caused by the rain triggered disasters.

Chaudhary also held a meeting with GB Governor Syed Pir Karam Ali Shah at his office.

Responding to a reporter’s question, the federal minister said that the boundary issues between GB and KPK will be resolved by a commission formed in Islamabad. The federal boundary commission, he said, will be headed by retired judge, Justice Tanveer Ahmed Khan.
