30 out of 42 most wanted criminals arrested, says SP Diamer Muhammad Naveed

Chilas, October 16: Diamer Police has arrested 30 out of 42 most wanted criminals so far this year. Comprehensive strategy for arresting the 12 remaining criminals is being prepared and they will be apprehended.

This was stated by SP Diamer Muhammad Naveed while talking to the media today in Chilas. He added that the arrested criminals include people involved in 3rd April massacre near Chilas, Lulusar massacre, murder of army and police officials and other high profile terrorist attacks. He said that only one of the people involved in the massacre near Chilas has not been arrested.

The district police chief said that so far there has not been any incident of terrorism because robust security measures have been put in place. He also informed the media that important information about the attack on a police station has been gathered and it will be shared with the masses at an appropriate time.

Giving details, he said that five people involved in the Nanga Parbat massacre and six people involved in the 3rd April massacre near Chilas have been apprehended. He added that 14 people wanted under ATA laws have been also been arrested.

SP Naveed, whose predecessor was killed in a terrorist attack along with a an Army Colonel and Captain last year, said that so far 3 AK47s, 39 pistols, 23 Five Shot guns, 300 rifles and thousands of rounds of bullets have been recovered by the police as part of a campaign against illegal arms.

The SP further said that a police post has been established in the Mashpar forest area and 20 policemen have been posted there to ensure maintenance of law and order.
