Gilgit: Pre-arrest bail granted to rights activists and political workers 

Gilgit, October 23: A session court in Gilgit today approved an application submitted by human rights and political workers, granting them interim bail before arrest.

Cases under section 124 (A) were registered against Advocate Ehsan Ali, Israruddin Israr, Safdar Ali, Muhammad Farooq and others after they staged a protest demonstration in front of the UNMOGIP camp office Gilgit.

They were protesting against sentencing of 12 political workers to life imprisonment last month. The registration of cases has been strongly condemned throughout the country by human rights and political workers and journalist groups.
