Rehmat Aziz Chitrali gets Dr.A Q Khan Gold Medal Award 2015

 Islamabad: Rehmat Aziz Chitrali has been awarded “Dr.Abdul Qadeer Khan Gold Medal Award 2015” by Nazriya-e-Pakistan Council for his performance in his profession which was observed and selected by the Nazriya-e-Pakistan Council Award Committee in a ceremony that was held at the office of Nazriya Pakistan Council, Islamabad on 24-03-2015.

Rehmat Aziz Chitrali was awarded the Dr.Abdul Qadeer Khan Gold Medal Awards by Nazriya-e-Pakistan Council, for his contributions to public service in the fields of language and culture documentation, promotion of mother languages and software development for Pakistani languages.

The Nazriya-i-Pakistan Gold Medal  & Award was instituted five years ago by the Nazriya-i-Pakistan Council and is awarded to Pakistanis who have excelled internationally and brought good name to their country. The Nazriya-e-Pakistan Gold Medal is one of the highest Medals of Pakistan and Rehmat Aziz Chitrali’s award was announced on Pakistan’s Independence Day on August 14, 2014. It is awarded each year by the President Nazriya-e-Pakistan Council for Pakistanis who have achieved the highest level of excellence in their respective fields. Others who were awarded this medal this year by the Nazriya-e-Pakistan Council included: Engineer Shamsul Mulk,  Professor Dr Muhammad Akram Chaudhry,  Zamrud Khan, Fateh Khatoon,  Majid Siddiqui, Aslam Kamal, Professor  Dr Haroon ur Rasheed Tabbasum, Dr Saleema Raeesuddin Ahmad, Professor Dr. Merafalebos,  Dr Agha Muhammad Nasir, Anam safdaar, Aneeq Ahmad, Rehmat Aziz Chitrali,  Muhammad Huzair Awan, Mahnoor  Akram, Athar Ali Yad, Muneeba Mazari, Tayyab Fareed, Rania Hussain and Hisham Hadi Khan.

These medals are given each year to different personalities of Pakistan from all fields of life on the basis of their excellent performance. The chief guest of this ceremony was Peer Naqeeb ur Rahman, Renowned  religious scholar  of Pakistan who gave away medals to the participants.

Rehmat Aziz Chitrali is an Pakistani Mother-Languages rights advocate and an activist against Human Righst. He is working for the promotion and preservation of endangered languages of Pakistan. He has acted to protect the rights of more than 40 dying languages of Pakistan. It is largely because of Chitrali’s struggle, work and activism that the a member National Assembly Ms.Marya Memon presented a languages Bill in the National Assembly of Pakistan.

His work is recognized through various national and international honours, Gold Medals and awards including the International Innovation Award 2014 by Haji Shareef Academy Germany, Innovative Initiative Award 2014 by Innovative Youth Fourm, Shandoor Award, Chitral Human Development Award, N-Peace Peace Award of 2014(Nominee), Pakistan Barnstar Award of National Merit, Rising Star Award, Pride of the Nation Award & Gold Medal by Journalist Foundation, Yasirullah Shaheed Award 2015 by Tehreek-e-Jawanan-e-Pakistan Chitral Wing, Sand-e-Fazeelat by Dawah Academy for the promotion of Children Literature, Sanad-e-Lisaniyaat by Mylanguages.org, Tamgha-e-Chitral by Wikimedia Foundation.
