Josh Game Cricket Tournament concluded in Islamabad

Islamabad: (PR) The Josh Games Cricket Tournament organized by Aga Khan Youth & Sports Board (AKYSB) for Rawalpindi & Islamabad concluded recently in Islamabad. The cricket tournament was organized to promote sports and healthy activities and highlights the skills of youth. In this tournament Twenty Seven teams participated and most of the players were from Gilgit Baltistan and Chitral.

Mr. Sultan Mehmood, President Ismaili Council for Rawalpindi & Islamabad was the Chief Guest and renowned social worker Mr. Jalal Bachlani was Guest of Honor of Closing Ceremony. Players and a large number of spectators were also present on the occasion.

City Sixers clinched the title of Josh Games Tournament after beating Morning Demons by seven (7) runs in the final match played here at Junoon Cricket Ground, Islamabad. In the final match, bating first, the City Sixers scored 71 runs in the allotted overs and set a target of 72 runs for the Morning Demons to win. However, in reply the whole team of Morning Demons club was dismissed on 65 runs. Rizwan Shahzad of City Sixers who took five crucial wickets, was declared Best Bowler while Noor Muhammad of again City Sixers was declared Best Batsman on his outstanding performance throughout the tournament.

Chief Guest and Guest of Honor distributed trophies and other prizes among the winners and runners-up teams of the event. Addressing at the prize distribution ceremony Chief Guest said that participation in sports develops cooperation and physical fitness and it also teaches the youth discipline, unity and consistency.
