School of traditional music inaugurated in Aliabad, Hunza

Hunza: A school of traditional music was inaugurated here in Aliabad, the de-fact headquarters of the Hunza District. The school has been initiated by the Center for Culture and Development, in collaboration with Hashoo Foundation.

The traditional music school has been established and training in musical instruments, like Rubab, Xegini (local version of violin) is in progress for the first batch of music enthusiasts.

Currently twenty-five (25) trainees are registered for training in both the musical instruments. As per plan, process of training will continue for next two months with a short break during Muharam-ul-Haram.

The school is being run jointly by Hashoo Foundation (HF), Hunza Arts and Culture Council (HACC) and a Master Trainer (Music Training).

The efforts of Centre for Culture and Development (CKU), Hashoo Foundation, Hunza Arts and Cultural Council and Karakorum Area Development Organization (KDO) were well appreciated by people and Chief Gust, Mr. Captain Retried Sami Ullah (Assistant Commissioner Aliabad, Hunza, G-B). He told such remarkable efforts by CKU and Hashoo Foundation in culturally rich regions like Hunza would definitely help promotion of culture. He said that the administration will support the Hashoo Foundation in implementation of such initiatives in the future.

  2. I do not see any prominent musician in this program, but it is good initiative, the famous musicians are in village Mominabad, but no one is seen here. Hope they are some where in the crowd. Keep it up. Good wishes.
