12 year old girl sexually abused, police starts manhunt

Chilas/Gilgit: Police on Friday started search for a young man nominated in a FIR by parents of a girl who has reportedly been subjected to torture and sexual abuse. The assaulted girl is believed to be around 12 years of age. Her parents approached the police and got a case registered against a guy named Abdul Khaliq, who has since gone in hiding.

The incident took place is a small village of the Thor Valley in district Diamer. Police, on the other hand, have registered case number 5/10, under section pp 376, and arrested the brother and father of the accused, launching a manhunt.

The DIG of Police has told the media that medical checkup has established that the 12 year old was sexually abused. He has vowed to bring the criminal to justice.
