Residents of Shetmerg, Chipursan, dig through avalanche debris to water cropped fields

Hunza: People in Shatmerg area of Chipursan Valley, Gojal, are busy digging through an avalanche debris to construct a tunnel to be able to fetch water to their fields for crop irrigation.

The Chipursan Valley, located in the north-western part of Hunza, shares border with China and Afghanistan. The valley received heavy snowfall in the month of March and April. Avalanches destroyed several water channels and roads, many of which remain repaired.

The people of Chipursan constructed the road till Sost on self-help basis.
