Gilgit: Efforts are underway to increase quota for women in the local government bodies. A bill against the so-called ‘honor killing’ will be tabled soon in GBLA. My Bill against under-age or child marriage was killed by assembly members from treasury and opposition benches. I was called a heretic for tabling the bill in the assembly.
This was stated by Parliamentary Leader for Law Aurangzeb Advocate while addressing a gathering held in Gilgit under the auspices of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan. He also promised to prepare a bill based on the recommendations of the Women Task Force.
