Gilgit: Strengthening of wildlife conservation measures stressed on World Environment Day

Gilgit: (PR)  Snow Leopard Foundation (SLF) partnered with Parks and Wildlife Department GB, WCS, WWF and community based conservation organizations to mark the World Environment Day, 2016. Haji Haidar Khan, Parliamentary Secretary Health and Population Welfare Department GB (Ex-Advisor Forest/Wildlife/Environment) graced the event as guest of honor. A walk was arranged from Forest Complex to Public Chawk which was attended by people from all walks of life.

Mr. Ghulam Muhammad, Conservator Parks and Wildlife Department GB in his speech thanked the honorable guest and other participants to join hands with the department in raising awareness of the importance of wildlife conservation. The Parliamentary Secretary in his speech appreciated the efforts of the Department, Conservation NGOs and Communities in safeguarding and sustainable management of wildlife of the region. Banners carrying thematic slogans were displayed at prominent places of Gilgit city.
