Oxford University Press to open bookstore in Gilgit

Karachi: Ameena Sayed of Oxford University Press has said that her organisation is opening a new bookstore in Gilgit, the administrative capital of the mountainous Gilgit-Baltistan region.  She made the announcement while addressing the inaugural session of the Karachi Literature Festival here today.

“The Oxford University Press is a department of the University of Oxford. Oxford University Press (OUP) is a department of the University of Oxford. It furthers the University’s objective of excellence in research, scholarship, and education by publishing worldwide”, reads an introductory para on the organisation’s website.

OUP, which claims to publish ‘for all audiences’, has been working in Pakistan since 1952.
