Protest: Journalists accuse GB govt of oppressing press, protest against closure of newspapers

Gilgit: Journalists staged a protest demonstration in Gilgit today to condemn the government for not paying pending bills to newspapers. They said that due to financial difficulties the newspapers are not being published, and the locals are deprived of information.

The protest was jointly organized by Gilgit Press Club, GB Newspaper Society, Gilgit Union of Journalists and Committee for Protection of Journalists.
