Govt to establish tent villages to facilitate tourists in Gilgit-Baltistan

Islamabad: For the facilitation of the domestic and international tourists, GB governments has decided to establish tent villages at Gilgit Baltistan.

“20 tent villages will be established at different open places of GB and residential facilities will be given to more than 2000 tourists every day”, said Spokesperson of GB Government Faizullah Faraq while talking to this scribe.

He further added that the increasing flow of the tourist and the presence of insufficient hotels in GB was creating troubles for the tourists. He said that the government had to open the door of schools to entertain the tourist last year.

Responding to a question, Faraq said that Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Hafizur Rehman had sent a letter to federal government to remove the NOC restriction imposed on international tourists.

It is worth to mention that more than 1 million tourist had visited the region in 2016, according to government claims. More tourists are likely to visit the GB region this year.
