Professor Dr. Khalil Ahmad appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Karakuram Int’l University Gilgit

Gilgit: Professor Dr. Khalil Ahmed, from Gulapur village of Ghizer, has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of Karakurom International University (KIU), Gilgit. Formally notification of his appointment has been issued today.

Dr. Khalil has received his PhD in Zoology from the Zoology Department of the University of Pujab, Lahore. He has also studied at the Aberystwyth University, Wales, UK, at post-doctoral level.

Professor. Khalil will replace Professor Dr. Muhammad Asif Khan, who has left KIU recently.

Dr. Khalil, who was currently working as a professor at the Karakoram International University, Gilgit-Baltistan, has worked as Associate Professor at KIU, and as as Associate Dean of Natural Sceiences Department at the university.

Before joining KIU, Dr. Khalil was an Assistant Professor at Post Graduate College Gilgit. He has also worked as lecturer at the F.G. Post Graduate College Gilgit, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan.

Prior to that Professor Khalil worked as Research Microbiologist at the Aga Khan Health Service and as a Trainee Microbiologist at the Aga Khan University, Karachi.
