Founded in 2007, Pamir Times (PT) is a pioneering and award-winning digital media platform serving Gilgit-Baltistan, Kohistan, Chitral, and the surrounding mountain regions. Local youth started it as a citizen journalism project to bring the voices of high-mountain communities, long underrepresented in national discourse, into the mainstream.
What began as a modest volunteer effort is now a trusted, multilingual news platform with local, national, and global readership. PT reports on political developments, social change, environmental challenges, cultural heritage, and grassroots innovation from the Karakoram, Hindukush, Himalaya, and Pamir.
Pamir Times (Pvt) Limited is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) under Section 16 of the Companies Act, 2017, and is a member of the Digital Media Alliance of Pakistan (DigiMAP), an alliance of independent, non-legacy digital media platforms.

PT started with just two volunteer reporters. It now has trained contributors from every district of Gilgit-Baltistan, Chitral, and Kohistan, reflecting the region’s ethnic, linguistic, and sectarian diversity. That inclusive structure makes PT a unifying platform for Pakistan’s mountainous north.
