Speakers in the morning blasted government officials for making ‘misleading’ reports about condition of the local people. Ruling political leaders were also harshly criticized for not coming up to expectations of the local people. “Neither they provide solutions nor they communicate our issues to the people”, a speaker said.

“Even a bureaucrat who belong to our own region deceived us and gave misleading reports about the sufferings of the local people”, the protesters said. “While he may have won a better position in the government he has lost the respect and confidence of the local people”, a young speaker said.

The protesters have gathered at the Goze Chowk in Gulmit and plan to march towards the Tehsil office.

In the meanwhile PPP’s die hard activists are celebrating the Barsi of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in Gulmit.

Included in the list of speakers were Rehan Shah, Ali Dad, Numberdar Bai Nazar, Numberdar Gohar Shah, Maqsood and Shamim, among others.

A resolution was also passed at end of the procession and presented to the assistant commissioner of Hunza – Nagar, Zameer Abbas, who promised to forward the resolution to higher authorities on behalf of the public.

  2. The people of Gojal passing through such a harsh moment doesnt mean that they will loose their morale .but it can alos give an oportunity to them that they will have to belive in themseves for leadership. Its qiute amazing to see them still seeking help of the goveniment even after the acidulous remarks of the CM of Gilgit-Baltistan.He has made it clear that our people only deseve for basless announcments. We are very optimistic about the future of Gojalies that the will soon become politically mature enough to distinguish between their friends and foes.
