{"id":20508,"date":"2011-06-06T01:13:23","date_gmt":"2011-06-05T20:13:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pamirtimes.net\/?p=20508"},"modified":"2011-06-06T01:13:23","modified_gmt":"2011-06-05T20:13:23","slug":"pemra-raids-cable-operators-offices-in-gilgit-and-ghizar-equipments-confiscated","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pamirtimes.net\/en\/2011\/06\/06\/pemra-raids-cable-operators-offices-in-gilgit-and-ghizar-equipments-confiscated\/","title":{"rendered":"PEMRA raids cable operators&#039; offices in Gilgit and Ghizar, equipments confiscated"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><strong>PT Report<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><strong>GILGIT<\/strong>: A joint team of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Islamabad and GB has confiscated equipments, including receivers and modulators, from offices of cable operators in Ghizar and Gilgit district.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">According to information received by Pamir Times, &#8216;the raid was conducted today on complaints of citizens who blamed the cable operators of spreading anti-Islam and anti-society propaganda through regional cable networks&#8217;.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_20509\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-20509\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pamirtimes.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/the-meaning-of-network-cable-is-unplugged.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-20509\" title=\"The-Meaning-of-Network-cable-is-unplugged\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pamirtimes.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/the-meaning-of-network-cable-is-unplugged.jpg?resize=300%2C225\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-20509\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">PEMRA unplugs cable networks in Ghizar and Gilgit<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">A PEMRA release alleged that the cable operators were following a &#8220;foreign agenda&#8221; of crating anarchy in the region, by spreading &#8220;hatred towards a specific ethnic group&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">The raids were conducted on offices of the operators who are registered with PEMRA. The media release by PEMRA also mentions that the cable operators had breached the terms and conditions of their registration so it was important to bring them under the ambit of law.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">Some cable operators in Hunza &#8211; Nagar and Skardu are functioning without any license.
