{"id":21960,"date":"2011-09-17T21:24:43","date_gmt":"2011-09-17T16:24:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pamirtimes.net\/?p=21960"},"modified":"2011-09-17T21:24:43","modified_gmt":"2011-09-17T16:24:43","slug":"rains-damage-roads-in-gilgit-baltistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pamirtimes.net\/en\/2011\/09\/17\/rains-damage-roads-in-gilgit-baltistan\/","title":{"rendered":"Rains damage roads in Gilgit-Baltistan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Monitoring\u00a0 Desk<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>GILGIT:<\/strong> \u00a0Like other parts of the country the recent monsoon rains have done tremendous damages to\u00a0roads and other private properties in Gilgit Baltistan region.\u00a0 Landsliding and mudsliding,\u00a0have blocked roads in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) at various places over the last couple of days.<\/p>\n<p>According to official reports\u00a0continuous rains triggered sliding on Karakoram Highway at several points as a result of which Gilgit to Chilas road was blocked at Tato.\u00a0 Dasu and Pattan points of\u00a0 KKH in Kohistan district were also affected badly which caused\u00a0traffic problems for commutors on the highway.News of landslides have been reported from\u00a0 other places of the region as well. Gilgit to Astore road was also blocked due to land sliding and Gilgit to Hunza road was also reported closed for traffic. Gilgit to Ghizer and Skardu roads were opened for traffic, sources added.\u00a0 Chipursan road whose condtion was bad even before the rains winessed further damages.\u00a0The recent wave of\u00a0rains has caused property loses but comparing to last year&#8217;s rains it\u00a0did not cause any major untoward incident in the region.
