Chitral, July 11<\/strong>: Eight passengers were killed and four injured as a passenger vehicle plunged into a deep ravine in the Drosh Valley of Chitral. The Land Cruiser, number PSD 492, had entered Chitral from the adjacent Dir District.<\/p>\n

According to details the vehicle fell in a deep ravine near Mir Khani Post at Ashirat Road, near Ziarat Nallah. 7 passengers were killed on the spot while 6 were injured. One passenger, identified as Zahid Hussain, breathed his last at the hospital. Four of the injured are believed to be in serious condition.<\/p>\n

On hearing the tragic news personnel of the Chitral Scout reached the sport and recovered bodies from the river. The injured were rushed to the nearby hospital in Tehsil Headquarters.<\/p>\n

The deceased have been identified as driver Gul Badshah son of Jola Khan resident of Dir, Muhammad Adil son of Abdul Qayum resident of Mohallah Hazrat jee Peshawar, Nasoori son of Jalal\u00a0 Khan resident of Mian village Mardan,\u00a0 Rafiqullah\u00a0 son of Jaafar\u00a0 resident of Barawal Banda Dir upper,\u00a0 Raz Muhammad son of\u00a0 Sher Muhammad resident of Peshawar, Shahab Khan son of Muhammad Akbar Khan\u00a0 resident of Lower\u00a0 Dir.<\/p>\n

The injured persons were identified as Muhammad Zareen son of\u00a0 Sadbar Khan resident of upper Dir and Abidur Rehman son of Saidru Rehman resident of upper Dir. Two injured persons who are unconscious could not be identified. Drosh police has registered a case and started further investigations. The reason behind this incident could not ascertained immediately. Hence there is no parapet wall, protection and side wall on road side on the bank of Ziarat nullah and river. Residents of Chitral have been demanding of the federal and provincial government for construction of Side wall, parapet and side wall so as to save precious human lives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
