Almost every day there are incidents of firing and attacks. On Saturday a police constable, identified as Shah Jamaludin, was shot dead near Raqs Cinema as his fellow policemen, instead of retaliating, disappeared from \u00a0crime scene. The police officials, reportedly, left an official gun at the sight while fleeing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In another incident a shopkeeper was shot by unknown people in Baseen area. A passerby was also injured in the incident.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On Saturday mid-night, at around 11:10, a blast was heard by residents of the city. The blast, reportedly caused by a hand grenade attack, took place near Majini Muhalla. Luckily, no one was injured in the incident.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The law enforcing agencies have completely failed to rein in the elusive shooters who come out, kill people and vanish in the barely five kilometer long mountain city of Gilgit, which is also the seat of the regional government.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The incidents of violence are on the rise after the killing of 19 people in Naran Valley of Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our Correspondent Gilgit, August 25: The law and order situation in Gilgit city is deteriorating.
