Aliabad, December 15<\/strong>: The power crisis in central part of the Hunza Valley is likely to remain unresolved in the months and years ahead. The current production capacity is around 1.17 MW, which is well below the power needs, equal to around 3.5MW.<\/p>\n

This was stated by PWD officials today while talking to the media. They said that a one-megawatt diesel operated generator is available but it is insufficient for the region’s electricity needs.<\/p>\n

The people of central and lower Hunza valley, home to around 100,000 people, are receiving electricity for less than 10 hours everyday.<\/p>\n

Due to poor planning and inability of the leaders to mobilize resources, the power electricity crises has gone from bad to worse, with no sign of improvement in the near future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
