Areas okayed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><strong>Gilgit, Oct 30:<\/strong> The Northern Areas Departmental Working Party in its meeting on Thursday approved nine uplift projects in irrigation, transport and communication, physical planning and housing sector.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">A spokesman of the administration said the meeting presided over by Northern Areas Chief Secretary Babar Yaqoob Fateh Mohammad discussed 13 projects.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">The spokesperson said NADWP deferred a project in health sector on technical ground and asked the quarters concerned to get the PC-1 reviewed and come up with new one keeping in view the public needs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">The NADWP also recommended four projects &#8212; 26MW Skardu, 4MW Thack, Chilas and a project of Disaster Management &#8212; to Central Development Working Party for consideration because they were beyond their jurisdiction as their cost was too high.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">Earlier, on Wednesday the spokesman said the Northern Area Departmental Developmental Committee in a meeting gave approval to 34 out of 41 projects in various sectors and deferred seven projects on technical grounds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Northern Area Planning and Development Secretary Abdus Sattar.\u00a0 Courtesy: Dawn<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gilgit, Oct 30: The Northern Areas Departmental Working Party in its meeting on Thursday approved nine uplift projects in irrigation, transport and communication, physical planning and housing sector.
