Funeral prayer for the 55 years old Sakhi\u00a0Ahmed Jan, killed by unidentified people in Gilgit\u00a0during Sunday violence, were offered in Gilgit\u00a0on Monday morning. His body will be\u00a0buried at Guludas-Ghizer, his hometown.\u00a0Members of Masajid\u00a0Board; Haji\u00a0Abid\u00a0Ullah\u00a0Baig\u00a0and Hussain\u00a0Ali Rana, DC Gilgit; Shahbaz\u00a0Tahir\u00a0Nadeem, SSP Gilgit; Muhammad Ali Zia, Rangers officers, Government officials, and a large number of people attended the funeral.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Gilgit, August 25:<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0Two people, including a police official, were killed, while two others were injured in separate incidents during a fresh episode of unrest in Gilgit city, on Sunday evening.<\/p>\n

According to police sources, unidentified gunmen on a motorbike attacked two police elite force personnel near Sakwar\u00a0entry point in Gilgit.\u00a0 One personnel, identified as Sher Bahadur from Basin, succumbed to his injuries at City Hospital Gilgit, while another Muhammad Bilal\u00a0from Kashrote\u00a0sustained the injuries. These police officials were going through elite force training at Sakwar Police training center.<\/p>\n

This incident tensed the situation in Gilgit\u00a0city and armed men opened fired on a Tyre shop in old PIA Link Road injuring two people, one of them later died at DHQ\u00a0Hospital. The deceased was identified as Sakhi\u00a0Ahmed Jan from Guludas, Ghizer\u00a0and the injured Sadaqal\u00a0Ali was a student from Domiyal, Gilgit.<\/p>\n

The fresh violence created panic amongst citizens and all major markets were closed down.<\/p>\n

The local administration imposed section 144 in Gilgit city and enforced the ban on pillion riding from Monday morning.<\/p>\n

It is pertinent to note that, the killings took place despite a tightened security in Gilgit after a terror alert was conveyed from the Crisis Management Cell of the interior minister.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
