Islamabad:<\/strong> Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman said that the people of Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral are historically, culturally and geographically linked, and there\u2019s a need to hold more joint cultural events featuring artists from the two regions. He also said that the Shandur Polo Festival 2016 will be held in its fully glory.<\/p>\n

He was addressing a large crowd gathered to celebrate mother languages at the open air theatre in Shakar Parian, Islamabad. The CM, donning a cultural Chitrali hat and shrouded in white Chugha gifted to him by the organizers, said that his government will financially support joint cultural events between the two region.<\/p>\n

Also present at the occasion were\u00a0senior minister Haji Akbar Taban, and PMLN leader Ashraf Sada, among others.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the CM launched Gileeto<\/em>, the latest audio album of Salman Paras, a famous Shina language singer.<\/p>\n

Thousands of people gathered for two days to watch brilliant performances by artists from Gilgit, Baltistan and Chitral in an event organized by the Initiative for Promotion of Pamiri Arts and Culture (IPPAC).<\/p>\n
