{"id":18961,"date":"2011-02-18T23:21:23","date_gmt":"2011-02-18T18:21:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pamirtimes.net\/?p=18961"},"modified":"2011-02-18T23:21:23","modified_gmt":"2011-02-18T18:21:23","slug":"g-b-govt-cancels-all-weapon-permits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pamirtimes.net\/tg\/2011\/02\/18\/g-b-govt-cancels-all-weapon-permits\/","title":{"rendered":"G-B govt cancels all weapon permits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><strong>Shabbir Mir<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><strong><strong>\u0413\u0438\u043b\u0433\u0438\u0442: <\/strong>The Gilgit-Baltistan government has cancelled all weapon permits, mainly issued to prominent personalities across the region.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">\u201cA notification to this effect has been issued by the home secretary,\u201d an official of the district administration told\u00a0<em>The Express Tribune<\/em> on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">He said that the decision was part of the drive for deweaponising the territory which has been affected by sectarian violence in the past.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">At the All Parties Conference (APC) held in Gilgit in December last year, it was decided that all permits issued to various figures, including religious and political, among others, would be cancelled.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">\u201cThe decision will become effective from Thursday onwards in all seven districts of Gilgit-Baltistan,\u201d he said, adding that violators would be dealt with severely.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">According to another district administration official, scores of people, including clerics and politicians, had earlier been issued permits to carry arms.
